We operate on an exclusive private lands concession & also a federal special use permit for coastal Brown Bear in unit 6. This area has been a consistent producer of Bears squaring 8.5' - 9.5', with a fair number of 10'+ Bears available. This is an excellent guide use area, as we are the only operator allowed to hunt on the concession & one of only two operators allowed on the federal permit. Spring hunts are conducted in early-mid May, & focus on active Bears that have just come out of hibernation. Fall hunts are conducted in mid October, & focus on Bears that are concentrated along active salmon streams. Transportation & accomodations are either on our live-aboard vessels, or a comfortable fly-in beach camp. Combo options can include Mtn. Goat, Black Bear, Sitka Deer, & Sea Ducks.
We also offer inland Grizzly Bear hunts in unit 13. This is the only unit in the state that is open year round, because of the high predation rates on ungulate populations. We offer a hunt during June - September while these Bears travel between active salmon streams and mountainside berry crops. Transportation is either by jet-boat or airplane, & accomodations can include a remote modern cabin. These are very exciting hunts, as we still hunt or spot & stalk these large predators. These Bears typically range between 7.5' - 8.5' square with some 9'+ Bears available. This guide use area has a high population of Toklat color phased bears, & they can be hunted on guaranteed non-resident tags. There are some big SCI Grizzly's available, while B&C classifies them as Brown Bears.
